No more hiding in the server room

Looking to replace the AV we're using, since it's giving us too much of a headache.. What do you use, and why? What are the positives and negatives based on your actual usage?

I’m not going to keep harping on this as you’ve obviously made a choice here but I’m going to make a last comment. What makes Windows so special that it needs AV whereas Macs, Linux and Unix machines don’t? Plenty of exploits running around for those platforms but the answer has been to release security patches and harden the OS rather then start running AV on all your Linux boxes. And if Microsoft can’t keep Windows secure then why do we believe that a 3rd party without source access can?

Like I said I’m going to drop this now. Hope eset works out for you.
after doing an eval, I'm almost ready to declare eset the best fit for us.. the management is straight forward and responsive. (I love that it's not java or web based). Some comparison tests I've come across show that it has a high detection rate, low false positives, and smallish footprint. Our tests show that it doesn't clobber outlook or use alot of cpu randomly like our previous AV suite. I only wish it was a bit more flexible in the exceptions... (a few specific inhouse excel addins are getting flagged) I also tried kaspersky's offering.. which i did like.. I'll call it 'runner-up' for now.. but somehow i liked the management to eset better.. Maybe I just need more time to get comfortable with it..
