I'm probably a bit of a masocist, but I can't help but miss Lotus Notes. Whilst I have to admit that now I'm looking after Exchange my users complain a lot less about their mail client, there were just so many cool little tweaks available in Notes, and adding your own (if you didn't mind doing a bit of coding) was so easy.
One addon that I really missed when I switched to Outlook/Exchange was Swiftfile (

These guys seem to create some lovely little Outlook utilities

Simplyfile is the Swiftfile equivalent. It's not quite as good, IMO, as it doesn't give you three choices of folders where a message might fit, but it is pretty close. It also adds the often missed Notes-like ability to turn a mail message into a calendar entry or task, and also to temporarily hide a message ('snooze' it). See the attached screenshot. I can't imagine using Outlook without this - I don't like too much rule based filing, as I prefer to see most things in my Inbox first, and this is an inexpensive godsend, IMO. Set a hotkey in the options and filing mail becomes a joy. Well worth an eval download.
I also just noticed that a particularly busy month or two has pushed my mailbox up to nearly a gig, so thought I'd try their EZDetach, which also looks destined to join my list of essentials - they'll be the only commercial utilities I would definitely purchase, everything else I use (other than Office) is free. EZDetach does a surprisingly good job of detaching masses of files from mail messages, popping them into a folder heirachy and replacing them with links in the mail message. It will even offer to re-attach the files when you forward a mail. Very cool. We don't do any attachment or archive management here (yet), so as a point solution this is a great stop-gap.
Anyone else have any cool Outlook utilities or tools ? Are there better/free alternatives to the above ?
