The SysAdmin Network

No more hiding in the server room

Like Rob B at the end of March, I would like to post a vacancy - this for an IT manager for a small Cambridge UK-based company (not mine). I think you're permitting posts like this but, if not, I can pull it immediately. I have little sense of the job market in this area at the moment, so any comments or even expressions of interest would be helpful.

Should I post the outline spec when its written? Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I don't actually know if there is any reason not to post job adverts in the forum.

As long as no one starts spamming the Network and turning this into a jobs site, I personally think a posting about a vacancy is a reasonable topic for a discussion.

Perhaps if other members do object, a job board could be set up on the site.
Then again I thought the Chat idea would be good and more often than not there is no one logged in, so what do I know? :)
Here's the outline, then. I'd like to hear from anyone either directly interested or who has ideas about how we might find somebody.
