Sticking it to Microsoft at TechEd

In less than 2 weeks' time, some of us will be going to TechEd in Los Angeles.

There was already an appeal to find out who-all is going to be there, but for those of you who aren't, what would you want us to find out more about and report back on? Do you have any specific questions you want someone to put to Microsoft?

Or maybe you're interested in finding out what the vibe is on other topics: Windows 7? Virtualization? The 'Azure' Cloud?

All requests taken and hopefully some interesting blog posts will come out of it!

I have a couple of questions, not sure if you can get answers on them but here goes anyway...

1) The well oiled rumour of bringing Microsoft Certified Masters Examination to Europe, is it really true and when? some of us have to pay for it ourselves and at the whopping cost of around $18,500 - paying for flights and hotels as well is beyond reach. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/master/default.mspx

2) Server 2008 R2 is rumoured for June / July any whispers hinting to this being true?

3) Would also like to know if the Windows 7 "Bring Your own Apps" Lab has much activity and any cool or geeky apps in development.

I didn't actually get to the "Bring your own Apps" lab, but in the true Microsoft way, I've got some hazy answers to your other questions....

1) Although the MCM program was planned for Europe this year, I got the answer from someone involved with the program that he 'strongly suspects' that won't happen.

2) The release date for Server 2008 R2 was stated as various times in 2010, but they keynote speaker said 'holiday season, 2009' for 2008 R2 and Windows 7 (thanks to Simon Lye for spotting that).
