I've been working in a software house developing third party tools for Exchange for a while now and am still a little fuzzy on who the major influencers are in this technology sector.
Are there any names out there (other than Microsoft employees) who you respect? Or websites/publications etc.?
Who would you be first in the queue to hear speak? Who's blog would you always read?
For me, Network World or Tech Republic are two websites/publications that I've trusted the most when it comes to software tools/white papers/etc... Moreover, it's even better when you have friends (or former co-workers) that work in the same industry that you do to get recommendations for software and tools.
Lastly, it'll be forums such as Experts Exchange, AMSET.info, and MSExchange that help me the most.
People that I respect in the Microsoft Exchange world the most are Simon "Sembee" Butler and Daniel Petri. I used to like MSExchange.org, but their forums are so sluggish and I don't think I've ever had a significant answer given to me there.
Anymore, if I want an answer on Exchange or anything tech related I'd go over to ServerFault or the Daniel Petri Forums. Really though, ServerFault is the premier tech forum these days. I don't follow any Exchange blogs
Word of mouth from other admins really helps me find what I need. Server Fault is good but it can be difficult to traverse at times. I stopped referring trade mags (Windows IT Pro, Network World, etc) years ago.
