I've not tried it with 12.5 but I'm sure it'll be pretty easy. The general process will be like this: 1. install Backup Exec on a server (not the Exchange server but one with the tape drive attached if you're doing backup to tape). 2. deploy the Re…

I know this may be unpractical compared to logmein, But I used it before and did the job. Ever heard about "Hamachi" if not, this a software acquired by logmein which basically create a virtual network through the internet and give both ends (PC's)…

thanks guys for this excellent feedback and i will be trying this on-site and let you all updated soon.

Logmein or a similar product is the way to go. Exposing Ultra VNC to the internet would create a new attack surface and vector to the server. Unless you use NT authentication the password is saved as plain text in the registry of the local machine a…

Just sign up for a dynamic DNS service. I use DynamicDNS and I have a built-in client in my router. The router updates the dynamic IP address to the DynamicDNS server. So you pick a domain name that you want to associate to the server and you can us…

I'm not very familiar with UVNC, but I'm sure it is possible, but not too sure you really want to accomplish your goal with this method. 1) Ensure UVNC is using full encryption and has a strong password(s?). 2) Forward a port on the office firewall…

Hi Danny

A warm welcome to the network!

I hope you find the network useful - however it will not be useful if there are not many active discussions!

Thus I highly encourage you to post on the forum/blogs and comment on others' posts. For example what have you been doing recently where things didn't go to plan? What did you do to overcome any problems? What are you going to do next month? Ask for other peoples' opinion/experiences in advance could be useful.

Enjoy the network!

Regards
Michael
